Anthony Catalano

Anthony has been playing since the mid 70's and enjoys playing anything from Dixieland (at the top of a Mardi Gras float) to musicals such as Annie, West Side Story, etc. to Swing, Big Band etc. In his teenage years, he took instruction from various symphony players and has had the privilege of playing with jazz bands, quartets, marching bands, wind ensembles, show bands, orchestras, and rock bands through college and after. Finally settling down with West End in 1986 because of the variety of music, various types of engagements and the probability of playing almost any type of music. He enjoys listening to almost any group with horns, but his all time favorite group is still Chicago, however Blood Sweat & Tears, Earth Wind and Fire and Tower of Power are not far behind. Anthony also enjoys singing backup vocals; unfortunately the rest of the band heard him sing, so they took away his vocal microphone, they let him keep his horn mike. |
